This course, with Eric Spivack, provides an introduction to the practice of Thai massage. The course addresses a variety of topics including the history of traditional Thai massage, its relationship to East Indian Ayurvedic medicine, the different styles of Thai massage, an introduction to the sen energy lines, the benefits of giving and receiving Thai massage, precautions and contraindications, the 10 principles of Thai massage, proper body mechanics, and strategies for mentally preparing to give a Thai massage.

    Eric Spivack, BCTMB, LMP, EAMP, RTT

    Eric Spivack, LMP, EAMP, RTT is a Registered Thai yoga massage instructor who has studied with master teachers in Thailand since 1996 and who has earned certificates from several Thai institutions. He is a nationally board certified massage therapist, an East Asian Medicine Practitioner, and a nationally Approved Provider of continuing education with the Thai Healing Alliance International and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. He is also a certified viniyoga instructor and author of several articles on Thai massage. On numerous occasions, Eric has presented at the Washington State American Massage Therapy Association’s state convention and has taught over 500 workshops in his career. Prior to studying massage and acupuncture, Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in Environmental Science. He is an attentive instructor who brings humor and a deep passion to his work.
