presented by Kerry D'Ambrogio
This series of courses provides an overview of the D’Ambrogio institute (DAI) approach to treating lesions via total body balancing. The goal of this series is to introduce students to a principle based approach, rather than demonstrating a specific progression of evaluation and treatment techniques. The approach is designed to provide clarity and provide you with the necessary tools for creative problem solving that you can apply not just on the shoulder, but anywhere on the body. View the course series in the following order:
Kerry D'Ambrogio is a physical therapist, osteopath and board certified acupuncture physician. His integrative blend of both Eastern and Western medicine, prompted by a whole body pre- and post-treatment evaluation (ARTS), is the key to unlocking perplexing pain and biomechanical issues. This method surpasses the tendency in Western medicine to merely treat the patient’s symptoms locally, at the site of pain, instead of searching for the root cause of their complaint.
The first chapter of this course, which is shared between all courses in this series, introduces the participant to the D'Ambrogio Institute.
This chapter introduces the causes and types of lesions, optimal balance, and The D’Ambrogio Institute (DAI) approach to total body balancing. This chapter also introduces and describes total body balancing.
The third chapter of this course introduces the key principles of total body balancing via demonstrations on the shoulder complex.
In the fourth chapter of this course, Kerry D’Ambrogio outlines key guidelines for the use of total body balancing, including indications, contraindications, and common practitioner errors that arise in everyday clinical practice.
In this chapter, Dr. D’Ambrogio demonstrates the total body balancing approach for the shoulder complex.
This chapter offers demonstrations of total body balancing treatment scenarios pertaining to the shoulder complex, building on the conclusions of the evaluation portion in the previous chapter. This treatment segment sets the stage for more targeted interventions explored in subsequent installments of this series.
In the final chapter of this course, Kerry debriefs participants after viewing the evaluation and treatment demonstration segments, and offers a summary of key points and takeaways from this important first segment in this series.
